bio

eventually you may find here a clever biography of The Horse You Rode In On, eventually you may find a lot of things......... but for now here is a basic take on how we came to be.....

Sometime in March of 2003 Gord Cumming (The Lawn, Possum) joins George Furtney (Oxford County Circus, Gravity Show) to record an Instant Klazzix. They decide to plug in an record the first 5 minutes of music they make. 5 minutes later the majority of what would become "Rookie Card" is sitting there staring at them. They decide to play more.

Months pass, songs are written, and a bass and drums are needed. Nick Burson (Foo Foo, Jazz Butcher) comes from Hamilton to drum. Scott Maynard (Quiet Revolution, Deep Dark United,) has nothing to do that day.

They go to a rehearsal studio and play. And play.

Their first show is in October 2003 at Toronto's El Mocambo. They do 4 songs as part of an Alejandro Escovedo benefit.

More shows follow. and more songs..... Recordings are made in February and April. They show promise and problems. Scott decides his energies are best spent elsewhere.

Greg Smith (Oxford County Circus, Martin Tielli Band, Greg Smith) signs up and recording time is booked for the end of August 2004.
